We are thrilled to invite you to a wonderful evening of live country and western music, presented by The Society for the Preservation of Early Country & Western Music! Everyone’s invited! OPEN MIC! No Karaoke. Performance starts at 7 PM. Arrive at 6:30 to set up. Kingsway Rd. & Seffner Ave. See Map at the bottom.
Often Referred to as SPECWM, the group was founded in 1987, as a non profit to promote the playing, singing and enjoyment of early country and western music. The group primarily plays gospel, blue grass, country music and western swing music. Our intention is to teach the roots of American country music so that all people can understand its evolution to the music we listen to today!!
People do not need to be a musician to join our music group. The Microphone is open to everyone regardless of your ability.
We have had members who play piano, acoustic guitars, electric guitars with and without effects pedals, banjo, autoharp,
zither, electric bass, standup acoustic bass, ukelele, trumpet, trombone, tambourine, accordian, spoons, cajun squeeze box, fiddle or violin, and washtub bass.
We play and sing songs from Hank Williams Sr. to John Denver and Jimmy Buffet.
Everyone is welcome to participate. Come join us for the good time!!
